I am Nico Sartori, a degreed meteorologist with a masters in Atmospheric Sciences. I did my undergrad at The Ohio State University and my master's at Ohio University. At Ohio University, I taught three meteorology courses involving Introduction to Meteorology, Forecasting, and Observations. My research background was involved with climate dynamics primarily in Antarctica. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and a native to the Midwest and recently moved to Albany, New York as a Disaster Preparedness Assistant for the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES). I have six years of experience in weather forecasting and have two years of teaching experience.
What is the first thing you do before walking out the door? Probably look at the weather forecast. Meteorology is the study of weather, which are the daily conditions that you get (temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, wind, etc.). However, the science behind meteorology and weather is often misunderstood. The field is still expanding today with new discoveries in research and findings. However, here we will go back to the basics. As you navigate this website, keep in mind the three goals below in starting this project.
To inform the public on hazardous weather and safety in creating a weather ready nation.
To teach the public more about my passion and the science behind weather.
To bring meteorologists, weather enthusiasts, and curious minds in union.
